Samsung WF330ANW 4.3 cu. Ft. High Efficiency Front-Load Washer - White Review

Samsung WF330ANW 4.3 cu. Ft. High Efficiency Front-Load Washer - White
Average Reviews:

This machine doesn't have the annoying buzzer that our last machine did. It chimes. At first the dial with all the buttons was intimidating and I thought I would have to read the manual from cover to cover just to run it. However, I soon found out after turning it on how really user friendly it was. It even alarmed letting me know that it's hot water hose was crimped. Sure enough the hose was crimped and after getting it straightened out it was good to go again. It is really easy to pause the cycle too. This machine uses very little water and is very quiet so if your like me you may think something is wrong with it and sit with a flashlight looking in watching in amazement. You can really cram a lot in it and it all come out clean, and unlike top loaders it uses less soap and won't mess your bras up around a central spindle.

LG : LDF6920ST Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Stainless Steel Review

LG : LDF6920ST Fully Integrated Dishwasher - Stainless Steel
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
We bought this stainless steel dishwasher about a month ago. I loved the look and the price, along with its touted quality. After many uses, however, I am not very impressed. I hope that with a different detergent I will get better results.
Pros:
-it's pretty.
-you can put a lot of plates in it.
-it's very quiet.
-it has lots of timing options.
-it has a cool sounding ding when you press the buttons (which are hidden: an added pro).
-price, considering its appearance.
-built-in garbage disposal. (I do feel that this is somewhat misleading, since if you put your dishes in with that much food on them, the likelihood of them coming out clean is low.)
Cons:
-I have only used one detergent in it (Electrasol Advanced), but have repeated trouble with unclean dishes, even when using the power scrub setting. Granted, I am putting knives coated in peanut butter in the dishwasher, but considering the brand and price, I think this is not unreasonable. The knives generally come out streaky and I have to scrub them and rewash. Ceramic plates seem to come out fine (plastic children's ones not so much, for some reason - more caked-on PB?), but I have trouble with cutlery and anything that had food stuck to it.
-the top rack does not adjust.
-the bottom rack, when pulled out all the way (like "normal" all the way, not "on the floor" all the way), ALWAYS comes off track and you have to fight with it to get it back in the dishwasher. This is perhaps my biggest pet peeve about this dishwasher.
-when opened, the handle rests on the floor. Mildly annoying, except when your foot happens to be in its path.
-due to the poor wash quality, I almost always have to use the power scrub setting.
-it seems that the wash cycle takes FOREVER. I realize I am using the power scrub setting, but really. My old Kenmore did not take nearly as long, and cleaned better. I can't believe I am saying this about a Sears product.

Eemax EX95TS "Thermostatic" Electric Tankless Water Heater Review

Eemax EX95TS Thermostatic Electric Tankless Water Heater
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
If you use a tankless water heater eventually you'll learn that they are cheap, unpredictable and will go out at a moments notice. A back up is
a necessity, I chose this one for my back up and as expected it was needed
to replace the Titan that lasted 6 months. This Eemas ex95ts worked great
for 3 weeks, and then the circuit board sparked, poofed smoke and set off
the smoke alarm. No response from their customer service. This thing didn't even last long enough to get a back up for it. Hopefully someone will make one of these that will last awhile but so far I have not found one and the Eemax certainly has been the worst I have tried so far.

Watts Series 70AT Hot Water Extender Tempering Valve 1/2" (0215470) Review

Watts Series 70AT Hot Water Extender Tempering Valve 1/2 (0215470)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
The valve received was not the one ordered (and not the one shown above) The one above is a soldered version and I received the threaded version which I recall as being significantly less expensive. The soldered version would not have required any plumbing changes, but as I was having difficulty getting sufficient hot water for bathing, so I reluctantly made the changes and installed. Considering the price of the part, I would think that the right one could have been shipped. Seriously doubt that I would use this service again.

Bradford White GX155S6BN-337 55 Gallon High Recovery Natural Gas Water Heater Review

Bradford White GX155S6BN-337 55 Gallon High Recovery Natural Gas Water Heater
Average Reviews:

Unit was professionally installed, and the pilot light immediately failed. Contractor made adjustments, to no avail. Changed controller, still failed within one day. Increased flow to pilot to the point where it will nearly heat water by itself. Continued to fail! Contractor had a Bradford White rep on site, who offered no new suggestion.
Contractor went out of business. Unit still defective. It seems to know when I'm getting into the shower.
Called Bradford White and was told to contact a local sales rep. I'm waiting for a return call!

Good product, but I could have purchased locally. Comes in a kit too, with element. Element more likely to go out before the t-stat. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot and save some time. Took more than a week to arrive at my doorstep.

Reliance 6 40 GORT 606 Series 40 Gallon Natural Gas Water Heater Review

Reliance 6 40 GORT 606 Series 40 Gallon Natural Gas Water Heater
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I bought this to save myself a bit of money, but it hasn't really done that. It worked flawlessly for about a year (I purchased it in 2008) but then the thermocouple went out. In addition, the electric igniter also went out (which I didn't even know was possible) so that once the thermocouple was replaced it was not possible to re-light it. I could not find a part number for the igniter, and emailed the company to see if they could help me with it. They responded 5 business days later with a part number (and news that pretty much the only thing covered by warranty is the tank against leaks), by which point I had already bought an aftermarket igniter that would do the job, but just hangs limply off the side of it by the lead wire. It worked flawlessly again for about 8 months, then the thermocouple went out again. I replaced it again -the aftermarket igniter is still working. And another ~1 year later the thermocouple went out yet again. I don't know if there is a design flaw in this specific model but having to replace the thermocouple once a year doesn't seem like a reasonable trade to save a hundred bucks over buying a better brand that might warranty the defective parts or offer a solution if a design flaw causes a part to fail repeatedly.
I certainly won't buy another Reliance product.

Navien NR-240 Condensing Tankless Water Heater, Natural Gas Review

Navien NR-240 Condensing Tankless Water Heater, Natural Gas
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Our water heater (30-gallon) went out (started leaking) mid-week... I called our plumbing contractor to see if we could install a tankless unit. He said it would take a few days to get one, but we got it by Saturday (struggled through with cold showers). Anyway, after he arrived with the Navien NR-240, I jumped right online to check them out... and saw some "skeptical" reviews, and was hesitant... but needed hot water, so I let him continue the install. I mentioned what I saw about 1" gas line minimum, new gas meter, etc. ALL NONSENSE. The unit only has a 3/4" input anyway. We only have a 3/4" to our house. Our unit works FINE with our 3/4" main gas line, and we also have forced-air heating, gas dryer, and stove... ALL work just fine. The facts: The heater does take a "little" longer to get the HOT water to the faucet if you have low-flow outlets like we do (you need 1/2 GPM minimum to start it up)... but once it gets there (less than a minute for the LONG run to our shower) it will not run out--EVER... you can take a 6-hour long shower if you want to... AND, everyone else can be running hot water also... you can't over-draw this unit... wow! Cons: If you use the kitchen sink to rinse something off, and turn on the single-handle faucet like we have, you most likely turn it on where it also calls for hot water... but the hot water won't get to you before you are finished rinsing your item off... you can hear the operating fan come on (which uses some energy). That is about it for CONS. The exhaust up to the roof is PLASTIC! This thing is SO efficient, the air coming out of it is barely warm. ALL of the energy goes into heating the water. I never yell at my wife for using all the hot water up anymore... peace in the household!

Navien NR-180 Condensing Tankless Water Heater, Natural Gas Review

Navien NR-180 Condensing Tankless Water Heater, Natural Gas
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I have a Navien CR-180A (gas) and it's the worst water heater I've ever experienced.
1. It doesn't use less gas. I keep records of utility usage and in the summer months my gas bill is no lower with this unit than the previous 30gal tank HWH (hot water heater). If anything, it's slightly higher.
2. It does not supply constant temperature water to my shower. With the old HWH I was able to set the shower up, step in and shower for as long as I liked (probably never more than 15minutes) without readjusting the shower. Now, I must readjust the temperature several times during even the briefest of showers (5 minutes).
3. It doesn't always supply HOT (very warm yes, but not HOT) water. I notice this when setting up the dishwasher. I upped the temperature setting from factory recommended 120 to 125 degrees. I turn on the hot water tap at the kitchen faucet and let it run to heat the water in the line so the dishwasher draws hot water without a cold water "slug" in the line. I'm a hot water wimp and I can't tolerate even 120 degree water but with this HWH I can leave my hand under the tap flow for minutes. The HWH is in the basement directly below the kitchen so the pipe run is only a few feet. I get warm water and I start to pull my hand away and the water will actually cool off. This happens regularly when the HWH is in the "sleep" mode and not running the circulation pump. This does not occur at the washing machine only a few feet away.
Perhaps the HWH requires a higher flow rate to work but given that it doesn't use less energy than my old 30 gallon tank unit I see no reason to spring the extra bucks for a tankless unit. Perhaps Navien fixed the problems in subsequent designs but unless there's no alternative I won't waste my money trying to find out.
One nice feature is the circulation system that allows me to have almost instant hot (warm) water at the bathroom faucets but this could have been installed without going tankless.
Early on I had the installer come back because I noticed water collecting inside the unit. They installed washers to let the water drain outside the unit on the floor. It apparently is a very small quantity that evaporates quickly and I've never noticed a puddle under the unit. I complained about poor temperature regulation and they suggested I "reboot" the unit by unplugging and restarting. If it hadn't cost so much I'd reboot it with a slegde hammer - permanently.

Flawless operation and well designed. If you cinch down the connection to water heater too tight or remove the fitting too many times, expect to have to replace the rubber grommet inside fitting. No fault of the part though.
I would have bought these again, especially after pricing all over the internet and looking at other valve options. These are high quality and Amazon price was great deal when I picked this. Very satisified.

Stiebel Eltron Mini 4 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 220 -240 Volt, 3.5 kW Review

Stiebel Eltron Mini 4 Electric Tankless Water Heater, 220 -240 Volt, 3.5 kW
Average Reviews:

These heaters are only designed to heat water if it is flowing at .5 gallons per minute, which is a trickle. A typical faucet is 1.5-2.2 gallons per minute. So if you want to use this at a sink to wash your hands, it will not work.
This will only work with the little tiny hot water taps.
However, it is marketed as if it will work with regular faucets, so I give it one star, and would give it negative stars if possible for this deception.

This service kit is complete, well instructed, and very easy to install. I am sure it saved over $150 compared to a service call. If your gas hot water heater is less than 10 years old and you find that the pilot light will not stay lit, it is most likely the High Temperature Cutoff Switch that has gone bad. That switch is part of this kit.

This water heater was installed when my home was built in 2004. Since then we have had to replace the thermal coupler 4 times due to a design flaw. The company has given me the run around everytime this has happened. When I first call they always insist it is the gasline and not their product. Then even when a plumber changes out the part and the heater starts working they want you to reinstall the bad part a use a voltmeter to prove the part was bad at which point they will send you a new part, but you have to be willing to go without hot water for up to three days to get them to send it. As soon as we can afford a new water heater I am replacing this one. It has cost me about $300 in repairs so that my family doesn't have to go without hot water for days on end.
