Mine did exactly same thing. It was pro installed with 100% city & softened water. Neither Bradford nor they local rep were really surprised. Water-heater was month under six but because of new construction home it looked like out of warranty. I really not wanted another one, it broke on weekend, local sales said they would have to have written approval from BW, and not sure what if anything they could do, would not accept sales records...
Why do you think they don't have sticker clearly stating "six years" warranty.

Clearwave Electronic Water Softener System Review

(More customer reviews)We've had one of these water softeners at our house for 10 years. We've recommended them to family and friends, and installed them in other peoples' houses, and everyone has been amazed that they not only work, but work SO WELL!
We bought one for our son for his brand-new house, which had very hard water, and iron pipes. When the water-softener salesman came around the neighborhood and tested everyone's water (planning on big sales), he couldn't figure out why the results were so bizarre at this house. He was finally clued in, and said maybe he should start selling Clear Wave softeners!
Things we noticed right away: a significant reduction in the amount of detergent we used for launday; showerheads didn't get clogged as fast; water-spotting on tiles was easier to clean off; skin was less irritated.
"Installing" this unit consists of wrapping wire around the pipe that comes into the house, and plugging it into an electrical outlet. Ours has been chugging along for 10 years with no issues. It doesn't make any noise, it doesn't need to be "fed" or fixed. It just quietly does what it was designed to do 24/7. No chemicals or salts have to be added to the water, and this unit costs about as much as a light bulb to operate.
I was delighted to find this on Amazon, because I want to buy another one for someone who just moved into a home with old pipes and hard water. I KNOW it will help!

(More customer reviews)Item works well, completely hands-off; when the spa pump runs, it comes on. Things to be aware of:
1. You need adequate power handling for the line going to the heater, at 11Kw on 240V, it pulls about 45 amps...a wire not designed to handle that kind of current will heat up, melt the insulation, and ultimately fail.
2. Heat isn't instant; my 1,000 gallon spa heats at a rate of 5 degrees Fahrenheit per hour...do the math...if the water is 70 degrees, and you want 100, it is going to take about 6 hours to get there.

Chilipepper pump CP6000 Review

(More customer reviews)We bought an older house which had previously had an addition. The shower in the bathroom of this additional was unusuable in the winter as the hot water just never arrived.
I had an electrician put an outlet in the bathroom and installed the Chilipepper myself under the sink. The differece is remarkable. The pump runs for approx 2 mins and then we turn on the shower and within a minute we have hot water . Great product, definitely recommeded!Chilipepper pump CP6000

Colorite Hot Water WC9158050 5/8-Inch x 50-Foot Red Water Hose Review

(More customer reviews)I had to remove some world-class ice dams from my roof this winter and learned the hard way that normal green garden hoses are NOT adequate for hot water (~128 degrees F). A normal host lasts about 20 seconds before the rubber gets soft and the hose bursts out of the factory-crimped connector. Of course, I had the hose screwed into the washing machine's hot water valve (indoors) and I was outdoors at the top of a ladder when the water stopped flowing... that makes a mess of a laundry room in a hurry... and you have to run through a free-flying jet of hot water to turn off the valve!
This hose, however, is rated to much higher temps and it worked perfectly for this.

Bradford White 40 Gallon Gas Hot Water Tank, Tall Review

Before I bought it, I called Amazon to ensure that it's okay to install this thing in CA due to our stringent environmental laws. I was told if it's on the site and I can place an order with a CA delivery address, there's no problem.
So I ordered the heater and it arrived timely (the packaging was a little dinged up, but okay). As I'm walking around it, I see written on the packaging "It's a violation of the law to sell or install this heater in Southern CA.". I call up Bradford White tech support and they confirm that this unit is not allowed in southern CA. I call Amazon again and the 2nd rep confirms that if they sell it to me here, it should be okay and there are no notes on the item saying it's not okay in southern CA.
I ended up doing a return (via pickup) and spending hundreds more on a unit sold to me via a local plumber/installer.
Not a good experience. Amazon conceded that they're just fulfilling the order, but that it's sold by another company via Amazon.com, so it's not really their fault...
